A 27-year-old Namibian man, Ambrosius Mathias Muyeu, remains behind bars following his arrest for double murder.

Ambrosius is accused of killing his grandparents at Kayeura village.

The gruesome incident allegedly took place on 11 July 2025, at Kayeura village in the Musese Constituency of the Kavango West Region.

It is alleged that Muyeu decapitated his grandmother and grandfather with an axe, resulting in their deaths.

The victims have been identified as 79-year-old Hamukwaya Clemens and 84-year-old Mukuve Maria Kakove.

Authorities say the murder was motivated by suspicions of perceived witchcraft within the family.

Muyeu appeared in the Kahenge Periodical Court yesterday, and his case was postponed to the 7th of October 2025 for further investigation and for the accused to secure legal representation.
