The police in the Erongo Region have raised concerns over the increase in stock theft cases over the past two years, valued at over N$1.4 million.

A Windhoek family is mourning after a mother identified the remains of her 27-year-old daughter at the Windhoek State Mortuary. Jennifer Isaacks' decomposed body was discovered in bushes behind the University of Namibia's main campus on 31 January.

The Erongo Police seized drugs worth N$2.5 million in just four months. Erongo Police Regional Commander Commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona released the figures in Walvis Bay, covering the period from October 2025 to date.

Police and prosecutors have linked the fatal attack on Ondangwa prosecutor Justine Shiweda to a case in which she opposed bail for jailed former police officer Abner "Kapilili" Mateus. Justine Shiweda's job has cost her life. 

Prosecutor-General Martha Imalwa delivered an emotional tribute to the family of the late Ondangwa-based prosecutor, Justine Shiweda.

She described Shiweda as an outstanding and committed prosecutor who was simply doing her job. Imalwa added that her death will not be in vain.

The Keetmanshoop Regional Court has sentenced 24-year-old Flora Van Kent to 10 years’ imprisonment for stabbing to death a nineteen-month old baby.
 
Van Kent, a mother of two, inflicted two stab wounds to the baby girl, causing her death.
 

Housebreaking and robbery topped crime reports across Namibia over the weekend.

Several housebreaking cases with intent to steal occurred in Mariental, Ongwediva, Henties Bay, and Bunya in Kavango West.

Over the weekend, the police have responded to a series of events ranging from drug-related to violent crimes and fatal road crashes.

Drug-related crimes were the most recorded offenses.
