Vice President Lucia Witbooi has said the Swapo Party remains open to accepting new and former members.

Witbooi gave an assurance at a mobilisation rally for the November Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections held at Odibo in the Ohangwena Region.

Witbooi called on the eligible voters in Odibo and beyond to elect the competent and ready candidates to implement the Swapo Party manifesto.

The Vice President said the Swapo Party remains steadfast in improving people's living standards, irrespective of where they come from or belong.

"The Swapo Party candidates are under serious instruction that when they emerge victorious, and we are sure they will on 26 November 2025, they must implement the party election manifesto without fail and that they must do it at full speed. The people of Namibia have the right to expect speedy and effective service delivery because they have put the party in power in 2024."

She said the party has delivered tangible development across the 14 regions in urban and rural areas, urging all party members to mobilise the masses to ensure development continuity.

"Former councillors, the party needs you; the candidates need you. Working hand in hand, we are already in mobilisation to go the extra mile. This effort is not focused on you; it is focused on the party, and I appreciate your understanding of this, which I felt was important to emphasise."
