ICT infrastructure and equipment provider Powercom this afternoon commissioned a total of 25 network towers: two in Omusati, four in Erongo, seven in |Khomas, two in Otjozondjupa, two each in Kavango East and West, one in  ||Kharas, one in Oshana, one in Oshikoto, and three in the Zambezi Region.

The towers were built at a cost of N$40 million and constructed over a period of one year.

This brings the total number of towers constructed by Powercom to 318 nationwide, up from 276 towers four years ago.

Information and Communication Technology Minister Emma Theofelus, speaking at the inauguration of the symbolic network tower in Iikokola village, Omusati, said the expansion is crucial for ensuring smooth communication in both urban and rural areas.
