The father of the two civilian sisters who died in the Saturday accident said he is still numb from the news of the death of his two daughters.

Berrent Jagger made the remarks to NBC News after the Swapo Party Secretary of the Women's Wing visited the Jagger family today.

Last Saturday, Berrent Jagger recalls that he went to the local sports field to cheer on some of his grandchildren who were taking part in school-related activities.

It was on his way back from there that he received a call from a friend, informing him that something terrible had occurred and he needed to make his way home.

That is when he was told that his two daughters had died.

"I said, 'Oh, I have heard you,' but immediately thereafter, I did not feel well. I asked the Lord to give me strength and keep me in his right arm," said Jagger.

Now the black flag of death is hoisted at his home; the family, in tears, has no choice but to come to terms with the sudden and tragic death of 34-year-old Rosetha Higoam and 29-year-old Diana Jagger.

"Their death has left a void, and we will miss them terribly; they would come home and clean and cook for us. They were very helpful."

Jagger is now taking on the responsibility of raising the seven orphans.

Francina Kahungu visited the Jagger home and encouraged the family to find solace in Christ.

"Now, what do I want from you as a family? We have these seven children; they increase the total number of orphans, but caring for them and dealing with this pain is very difficult. Imagine you believed the car would take our sister to the hospital for her delivery, but what actually happened was unexpected; nonetheless, it is God's will that has been fulfilled. The pain will come after the funeral; we must put our trust in God."

The family told NBC News that both the police and the prison services have promised to help pay for the burial of the two sisters.

Lawyer Sisa Namandje's Foundation has also donated N$10,000 to aid the orphaned children.
