President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and her Sierra Leonean counterpart, Julius Maada Bio, have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the historic ties between Namibia and Sierra Leone, rooted in their shared struggle against colonialism.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah recalled that many Namibians received education and training in Sierra Leone during the liberation struggle, alongside other forms of assistance provided by the West African nation.

President Bio equally expressed appreciation for Namibia’s continued support of the African Union Committee of Ten (C-10) on UN Security Council reform, which Sierra Leone currently chairs.

The two leaders met at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where they are attending the General Assembly.
