A businessman has come to the aid of a single mother of five who has been living in a traditional house without a door and a roof at Nkasa Village in the Kasheshe area in the Zambezi Region.

Cynthia Katulo said she has been living in fear for her life and that of her five children, sleeping in a house without a door and without a roof, but she survived a cold winter with no choice but to push through.

"I always sleep in fear, worrying that criminals might enter the house; without a door, they could come in and harm me and my five children. I sleep in fear but just pray to God to protect me. I am therefore truly thankful to Mr Nkando, who felt sympathy for me and decided to help me and my children."

Businessman Matengu Nkando, who came to the rescue of Katulo, says he was introduced to the family by two women who paid visits to the area and alerted him to their plight.

Nkando has appealed to fellow businesspeople to always think of the destitute and not only assist those in their vicinity.

The district headman of Kasheshe, Induna Lister Sabuta-Maulukupeka, expressed appreciation for the donation.
