President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has relieved Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy Natangwe Ithete of his duties, with immediate effect.

This was announced by the Presidency in a statement.

The statement further said that to ensure continuity and effective coordination, President Nandi-Ndaitwah will assume responsibility for the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy.

The Head of State also extended appreciation to Ithete for his service to the government and the nation at large.

Ithete will continue to serve as a Member of Parliament.
