Ambassador Bonny Haufiku has been appointed as Chief of Protocol, effective November 1, 2025.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency, Ambassador Haufiku, in his new capacity, will advise the President and the Presidency on matters of protocol, ensuring the highest standards of diplomatic etiquette and coordination for official engagements, state visits, and international events.

“His appointment reflects the Presidency’s commitment to strengthening Namibia’s diplomatic presence and maintaining the country’s reputation for professionalism and excellence in international relations,” the statement read.

Acknowledging his expertise, the statement added that Ambassador Haufiku brings to the role a distinguished diplomatic career spanning more than two decades, marked by extensive experience in international relations, bilateral cooperation, and multilateral engagement. 

He also served in various capacities within the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, as well as in diplomatic missions abroad.
