The University of South Africa (UNISA) has bestowed a posthumous award upon the late Founding President, Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma.
UNISA conferred the honour on the late Founding President during its prestigious 2025 Chancellor's Calabash Award in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The award was received by the late Dr. Nujoma's eldest son, Utoni Nujoma, on behalf of the family.
The posthumous award is in recognition of the role the late Nujoma played in Namibia's and southern Africa's liberation.
Last Thursday, Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço also conferred a posthumous award on the late Nujoma.
The late Founding President died on 8 February this year, aged 95.
