Based on the preliminary results of the 2025 Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections, political analyst Panduleni Nghipandulwa believes that the Swapo Party will be the biggest winner in these elections.

Indications are that Swapo will regain control of the Erongo Region, wrestling it from the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC), which obtained three seats in the 2020 elections. This was the same number as Swapo, but the IPC gained control after forming a coalition with the United Democratic Front.

Preliminary results show that Swapo won in all seven constituencies in the economically powerful Erongo region.

According to the preliminary results, Swapo also regained control in the Hardap Region from the Landless People's Movement (LPM), which won in seven of the eight constituencies in the 2020 Regional and Local Authority elections.

The rise of the independent candidate is also seen as a major feature of these elections.

A total of 68 independent candidates have taken part in the just-ended polls.

Preliminary results show that a good number of independent candidates are first past the post.

The Electoral Commission of Namibia will announce the final official results before they are gazetted.
