The international beauty queens who were in Namibia on the initiative of Miss World Namibia's Selma Kamanya's Global Namibia 1 project concluded a successful ten-day tour of Namibia.
The aim was to explore and promote the country's tourism on the world stage.
Global Namibia 1 is aimed at uniting nations through culture, heritage and leadership as well as showcasing Namibia's tourism potential.
The 19 Miss World titleholders and tourism ambassadors, representing Africa, Europe, Asia and America, visited the coast, Sossusvlei, and northern Namibia.
Upon their return to Windhoek, some shared experiences at a gala dinner, also graced by reigning Miss Namibia, Johanna Swartbooi.
Among the audience were also diplomats, former ministers and ministers.
Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture Minister Sanet Steenkamp was also on hand to provide inspiration.
Dr. Steenkamp noted that the night was about celebrating intelligence, innovation and beauty.
"I am standing in front of you as a woman who strongly believes deeply and without apology in the extraordinary power that emerges when women choose to uplift each other ... When we choose, it is a delicate choice that we make to support each other, whether it is with our studies, our family, or our mental health. Whether it is to carry forward our goals, there is beauty in looking another woman in the eye and saying, 'I recognise you for who you are. I recognise that you have got a certain level of institutional memory, but there is also something I bring to the table'."
The tour was supported by the Namibia Tourism Board, the Namibia Investment Board and MTC.
