Beauty pageants have a way of promoting positive impact in the communities, therefore, there is a need to rally behind beauty queens.
 

Miss World Namibia has awarded businessman Usko Nghaamwa with the Best Philanthropy Award 2025. 

This, they say, is for his long-standing and impactful contributions to community development, education and youth empowerment. 

Miss World Namibia has extended the due date for applications for the 2026 National Contest while also dropping the initially charged N$500 application fee.

The initial application period run between 30 October and 30 November. The extension runs from 7 to 16 January.

With the vision to boost Namibia's economy and uplift the tourism sector, Miss World Namibia 2025, Selma Kamanya, is driving "Global Namibia One" to do just that. 

The international beauty queens who were in Namibia on the initiative of Miss World Namibia's Selma Kamanya's Global Namibia 1 project concluded a successful ten-day tour of Namibia.

The aim was to explore and promote the country's tourism on the world stage.

Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya, has unveiled a new initiative at a fundraising event under the umbrella of the InnoNation Foundation: the Global Namibia 1 Project.

It is a national movement focused on tourism and trade, youth empowerment, innovation, and global connectivity.

Miss World Namibia 2024, Selma Kamanya, paid a courtesy visit to President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah following her return from the 72nd Miss World pageant, which took place in Hyderabad, India.

Former Miss World Namibia contestant Selma Kamanya paid a courtesy visit to Swapo Party Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa at the party headquarters.

Shaningwa was a strong supporter of Kamanya during the Miss World competition held in India, where Kamanya placed in the top eight.

Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya, made history by securing a spot in the Top Eight at the 72nd Miss World event held in Hyderabad, the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Telangana. 

The prestigious title, contested by 107 other hopefuls, was awarded to Miss Thailand, Suchata Chuangsri. 

The Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts, and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, has called on Namibians to rally behind Miss World Namibia, Selma Kamanya, as she prepares to represent the country in the 72nd Miss World pageant in India on Saturday.
