The Rehoboth community demonstrated today, requesting the refusal of bail for Naomi Fisch and Steve Scheiders, who were arrested last Friday for allegedly dealing in narcotic drugs.

Demonstrators handed a petition to the police and Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court, demanding the denial of bail for the two suspects.

Protesters claim that drug abuse has increased criminal activities among the youth, as well as violence and poverty.

The two accused appeared in the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court today.

Community members say the arrests have brought relief, particularly in Block F, which has experienced relative calm since the suspects were taken into custody.

Parents and community leaders express concern over the impact of drugs on young people, citing addiction, crime, and loss of life as ongoing challenges.

They believe drug trafficking poses a serious threat to the safety and wellbeing of children and families in Rehoboth.

Rehoboth Deputy Mayor Crystal Swartz says they are glad the accused are in police custody, as this will help make Rehoboth a better place for children and families.
