The Office of the Prime Minister has announced the appointment and transfer of several Executive Directors across key government ministries, effective 1 January.

The Deputy Executive Director in the Ministry of Finance, Oscar Capelao, has been promoted to the position of Accounting Officer.

Before serving the ministry, he worked as Group Chief Financial Officer at FirstRand Namibia. He will serve on a five-year contract.

Capelao replaces Finance Executive Director Dr. Michael Humavindu, who has been transferred to the Ministry of Works and Transport as Executive Director without accounting functions.

The Executive Director in the Office of the Prime Minister, Cabinet Secretariat, Ben Nangombe, has been transferred to the Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations without accounting functions responsible for Labour Relations.

Dr. Audrin Mathe, who is also an Executive Director in the same ministry, will be responsible for justice.
