The Namibia Security Workers Union (NASWU) on Thursday handed over a petition to the Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations.
Security guards from different companies joined the march and the petition handover.
NASWU president Michael Amushelelo demanded that they "want the minister to receive the petition, and for swift action to be taken; that is all that we are asking for."
Wilhemine Paulus from the National Youth Service's Youth Security Service elaborated on the demands.
"Number one, immediate payment of outstanding minimum wage and fair and reasonable salary increment in line with the cost of living standards. Number two, review of Sunday night overtime compensation; number three, clear communication regarding timelines for salary review and the future increase."
The Secretary General of NASWU, Mikka Joseph, said the petition's delivery was in accordance with Section 13 of the Labour Act of 2007.
Accepting the petition on behalf of the Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations was Deputy Executive Director Aune Mudjanima, who said, "We have already heeded your concerns, and we will make sure that we respond formally and then be able to address the matter."
