Namibia's tourism sector is gaining international attention as former contestants from the Miss Universe 1992 pageant visit the country for a safari tour, hosted by former Miss Universe Michelle McLean.
Fourteen contestants from the 1992 pageant will be in the country until 23rd March.
They are from 14 countries and on a mission to experience Namibia's landscapes, wildlife, and hospitality.
"Namibia will be a different experience. It will immerse you into our culture, and you'll get to know about conservation and about our beautiful indigenous people in our communities, and all the philanthropic work that you have done individually will be transcribed into what you're going to experience in Namibia. So each and every one of you," said McLean.
The group will travel across the country and visit community projects supported by the Gondwana Care Trust and the Michelle McLean Children Foundation.
They shared light and playful moments as they reflected on memories they could still recall from 34 years ago.
Miss Namibia, Johanna Swartbooi; former Miss Namibia, Selma Kamanya; and Mr. Universe Namibia were there to welcome the beauty queens.
McLean said the reunion not only celebrates the long-standing friendships formed during the pageant but also helps showcase Namibia as a travel destination to an international audience.
