The Secretary General of the Swapo Party, Sophia Shaningwa, has paid tribute to the late James Uerikua during a visit to the family house in Windhoek.
Shaningwa described the late Uerikua as a committed member of the party and the nation, whose death has left many in mourning.
Shaningwa urged mourners to remain strong during this difficult period of overwhelming pain.
"We are mourning. We are crying. But if the decision is from above, we all have to accept it. My condolences go out to all of you with tears and with heavy hearts. All of us are hit hard, but we have to remain strong and be ready for our days. Yes, I have already said we do not know the hour, nor do we know the minute when the Lord is coming."
She also called on road users to exercise caution to prevent further loss of lives.
The Secretary General further conveyed condolences to the family, Swapo members and the nation.
