Minister of Health and Social Services Esperance Luvindao stated it is too early to assess the impact of recent reforms aimed at increasing use of public health facilities.
Responding to PDM Leader McHenry Venaani’s questions on government savings and medical aid use by MPs, Luvindao said a three-month review period is ongoing before data can be evaluated.
The ministry’s current budget for the 2026-27 financial year is N$13.1 billion, below the N$14.6 billion initially requested.
Luvindao projected that annual allocations between N$17 and N$18 billion will be necessary over the next five years to upgrade facilities and construct new district and intermediate hospitals, aligning with long-term sector goals.
