The second Namibia-EU Business Forum has commenced in the capital, with a focus on skills development.
It brings together over 200 businesspeople, women, youths, innovators and investors.
The forum aims to unlock opportunities for skills development and investment, as well as to learn from other business giants how to tap into emerging sectors.
The European Commissioner for Environment and Water Resilience, Jessika Roswall, noted that this collaboration will foster opportunity-driven skills through vocational training for Namibians to unlock potential investment and create skilled Namibians who can generate job opportunities.
"The 2023 roadmap was a statement of intent with a clear vision: equal partners with shared stakes in a common future. Our strategic partnership in sustainable raw material value chains and renewable hydrogen benefits both parties: green industrialisation creates sustainable jobs for Namibians. And they help Europe transition to a low-carbon economy."
The Director-General of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Kaire Mbuende, said that although geopolitical tensions continue to negatively affect economies, new industrial opportunities are emerging.
The forum also aims to strengthen the EU-Namibia strategic partnership and improve the business environment.
It is held under the theme "Towards Stronger, Greener and More Diversified Economies: Catalysing Business and Trade Opportunities between the Two Countries".
