The Namibian Traditional Sports and Games Federation is preparing to officially launch its activities following the appointment of an interim committee by the Namibia Sports Commission last month.

The newly appointed committee has been given a 12-month mandate to stabilise the federation, promote and coordinate indigenous games across the country, and establish regional structures.

The interim leadership is headed by President Therens Ndisiro, alongside Vice President Mujandjae Kasuto, Treasurer Ester Malangu, Technical Director Iyaloo Hamukoto, and additional members Johannes Nghifikepunye and Joolokeni Hamungete.

Speaking on the development, Ndisiro stated that the committee's main goal is to ensure the federation becomes fully operational. He also called on individuals and companies to support the development of traditional sport in Namibia.

Moving forward, the federation is expected to hold its Annual General Meeting and Elective Congress within the next 12 months.
