Small business entrepreneurs popularly known as “Order with Me” have met with Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare to raise their challenges.

Dr. Ngurare was joined by Finance Minister Erica Shafudah and the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) Commissioner (NamRA), Sam Shivute.

The group alleged that officials disregard invoices that cross the border with their products, further accusing Commissioner Shivute of not acting on their grievances.

Those who import vehicles say NamRA's pricing at customs is unpredictable.

However, Commissioner Shivute promised that appropriate executives would address their concerns.

Minister Shafudah said it could be possible that NamRA would change prices that are on an invoice and would seek clarity from the institution.

"There was a question about a vehicle that supposedly cost fifty-something, and the owner says he has all the receipts. I haven't seen the receipts myself, but I trust that he has them. I heard that NamMRA said the vehicle discussed was not that one but another one. They will explain the matter. I just wanted to make sure because I would also like to learn from NamMRA.”

Dr. Ngurare said the meeting is one of many and encouraged the entrepreneurs to make use of state loans to further their businesses.

“We have assigned DBN, Agribank, and EIF to administer this loan product. This means that if your business model aligns with the objectives of the programme, you can submit your business proposal and apply for funding. You can present your business idea and request the amount you need. I believe the funding available ranges from N$60,000 to N$2 million.”
