Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare attended a Sunday service at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN) in Nkurenkuru, where he received blessings and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation.
Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare pledged that the N$371 million budget for the National Planning Commission will be used to support development projects and help the country stay on track to reach its long-term goals under Vision 2030.
Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare presented a N$131.6 million budget allocation to boost transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.
Dr. Ngurare was motivating the Office of the Auditor General's budget under vote 4.
Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare has said the funds allocated to the Office of the President for the 2025/2026 budget would enable President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to effectively implement projects as outlined in the Swapo Party manifesto and the 6th National Development Plan.
Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare called on opposition leaders to collectively focus on advancing service delivery during their tenure in the 8th Parliament regardless of political affiliation.
He said this during his maiden address in the National Assembly on Thursday.
Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare addressed staff at the Office of the Prime Minister, calling for a complete shift in how public service is delivered in the country.
Dr. Ngurare made it clear that under his leadership, there will be no room for excuses, complacency, or business as usual.
Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture, where he met with the ministry’s directors to familiarise himself with its operations.
The Namibian government has allocated more than N$500 million towards the formalisation of informal settlements.
The formalisation process, which will start in Windhoek as soon as possible, is expected to be rolled out to other local authorities around the country.
Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare laid wreaths yesterday at Heroes Acre in honour of the late Founding President Sam Nujoma and Hage Geingob.
Dr. Ngurare told the nbc News team that he often visits the Heroes Acre in honour of Namibia's fallen heroes and heroines.
