The Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) has extended the deadline for filing tax returns to 31 August.
NamRA announced in a statement that the extension was necessitated by delays in resolving technical issues affecting the functionality of the Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS).
The revenue agency said although significant progress has been made in restoring and stabilising key system functionalities, some functions remain affected.
NamRA stated that its technical team is still working on restoring ITAS to full functionality.
It urged taxpayers claiming deductions for pension fund contributions, annuity contributions or study policy contributions to upload the PAYE certificates from their fund administrators when filing their returns.
The deadline, which was scheduled for 30 June, will now allow for more time to complete tax forms.
