The Namibia Volleyball Federation has concluded its Annual General Meeting in Rundu.

The meeting brought together the executive committee, association chairpersons, directors, and invited guests to review the federation's progress and discuss its future direction.

Namibia Volleyball Federation President Tobias Mwatelulo says the AGM focused on strengthening the federation's governance by reviewing key constitutional documents and setting a strategic direction for volleyball in Namibia.

Tobias Mwatelulo said, “The main focus now is also to amend constitution documents such as the constitution, your sport recreation, your different cups as well as the subsidiary documents that you add upon. And then what we also do is we have certain motions that need to be tabled by the board to decide what the way forward is. So literally, on here is just to see what the vision is, what the aim we need to move forward with is, and what we can improve. It's an executive meeting which deals more on leadership of the federations as well as now, not administration matters it administration matters is what we deal with on a day-to-day basis.

Mwatelulo says delegates also reflected on the federation's achievements over the past season while identifying priorities and possible rule changes to further develop the sport.

” So far, in the few hours we were doing, we were just discussing what has been happening, and obviously the report of the regional activities, what they did as well as this current year because it's actually current to 2026 to 2027. So far, what has been happening we could see that the chairpersons and the directors as well as the executive put in certain efforts, and they're moving into that. What I will be interested in now is to see what we are going to do for the next forward,  what can we strategise, which rules are we going to change.”

Kavango Volleyball Association Chairperson Anna-Rosa Mupiri says the congress provided a platform for regional associations to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and adopt practices that will strengthen volleyball development across the country.

“The AGM, now called the congress it's going really well. We are busy engaging with the other associations, learning from their challenges what strategies they're using, so this is a very good opportunity for us to learn from the others and see how you can also implement what they are doing right into your association.”

The congress concluded with delegates reaffirming their commitment to advancing volleyball in Namibia.

The federation's next Annual General Meeting is expected to take place next year, when progress on the resolutions adopted in Rundu will be reviewed.
