NUDO Leader Vetaruhe Kandorozu accused the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform (MAFWLR) of sourcing water from areas where they fail to provide clean water to their local residents, particularly the Kavango Region and various boreholes in the Kunene Region.

Minister Inge Zaamwani stated that discussions on these projects have not yet concluded and denied accusations of neglecting residents in these areas.

"I'm not aware that that project is going to leave the people of Kavango out because that is not part of government policy. The projects that have been implemented so far have always been off-take for the local communities. And since this consultation is at an initial stage of the project, we should allow for those consultations to be concluded. And then if a decision is made that this is an advantage for the local community, then we can question that decision. But as for now, it's a consultation process."
