The Namibian Film Commission's (NFC) regional film roadshow has concluded with the premieres of Mindful Maestros, Connection, and One More Win.

The three-week initiative travelled across five regions to promote film development, support local creatives and showcase authentic Namibian stories.

Speaking at the event, NFC Chairperson Esther Beukes highlighted that the roadshow reached well over one thousand audience members and strengthened partnerships with institutions.

Beukes also stressed that some of Namibia's greatest stories are found within local communities and deserve to be developed and shared with wider audiences.

Beukes stated the outreach was a demonstration of the NFC's commitment to fulfilling its mandate of supporting, encouraging, and promoting the local film industry.

"The objectives of the road show were clear. Firstly, to strengthen relationships with regional stakeholders. Secondly, to create awareness of the Namibian Film Commission's mandate and services. And thirdly, to launch the 2026, 2027 film funding cycle, and to encourage greater participation by film practitioners in the country's growing film sector. The outcomes have been encouraging. The commission engaged various filmmakers and creative entrepreneurs, reaching over a thousand audiences through community screenings. The initiative also strengthened partnerships with regional institutions and received positive support."

The Commission further noted that investment in the film industry creates jobs and contributes to building a sustainable creative industry.
