The ELCIN Rehabilitation Centre in Oniipa has been presented with a vehicle, donated by Indongo Toyota in partnership with the Office of the President.
Vice President Lucia Witbooi said the vehicle would improve access to healthcare facilities and enhance service delivery at the rehabilitation centre.
At the donation ceremony, one of the beneficiaries, Simon Nengola, said the vehicle is an investment in the lives of people with disabilities.
"It will improve access to rehabilitation services, education, health care, outreach programmes and many other essential services, especially for persons living in remote communities. We all extend our gratitude to the ELCIN Rehabilitation Centre, led by Lempie Kamati; the board members; staff; and all partners who continue to serve people with disabilities."
Speaking on behalf of the Vice President, Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare stated that the vehicle will significantly improve the centre's ability to reach communities.
"Your generosity extends far beyond the donation of a vehicle; it is an investment in human dignity, accessibility, and a better quality of life for the many Namibians who depend on the centre's services. The vehicle being handed over today will significantly enhance the centre's ability to reach communities, improve access to rehabilitation services, and increase the efficiency of its operations."
The Chairperson of Indongo Toyota Group, Martin Shipanga, said the donation signals President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwa's call to ensure that no one is left out when it comes to access to resources and services.
"We view today not simply as the end of a decade but as a reaffirmation of a shared journey, one in which government, traditional leadership, the Church, and the private sector work together to build a Namibia where no one is left behind."
