Namibian entrepreneurs visited several South African businesses and institutions to exchange knowledge and explore opportunities for collaboration, investment and partnerships, ahead of the South Africa-Namibia Business Forum.

The delegation, largely agribusiness, renewable energy, infrastructure and logistics entrepreneurs, held engagements with the councils for Scientific and Industrial Research and the Agricultural Research.

There, delegates explored how multidisciplinary research capabilities in manufacturing, energy, health, agriculture and digital technologies could be harnessed to boost value addition in Namibia. 

They also discussed crop science, livestock, agro‑processing and research partnerships to help Namibia climb the value chain in meat, leather and horticulture.

Participants emphasised cross‑border technology transfer, joint research and the use of specialised research infrastructure to scale agricultural production and tackle local development challenges.

The group also visited industry players, including the Society for Automation, Instrumentation, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Endress+Hauser, IFM Electronic and LAPP Southern Africa.

The aim was to explore opportunities in automation, instrumentation and supply-chain solutions.

Beyond site visits, Namibian businesses will take part in Business‑to‑Business meetings during the forum, aimed at converting technical exchanges into concrete partnerships and investment opportunities.
