President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is scheduled to depart for a week-long state visit on Saturday as Namibia seeks to expand investment and economic cooperation, with bilateral trade between the two countries having surpassed N$40 billion.

Chinese Ambassador to Namibia, Zhao Weiping, has said tariffs imposed on them by the United States would only have a positive impact on ties between China and Namibia.

The Chinese ambassador said the increase in tariffs by the US was a typical act of economic bullying by America.
