The National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO) has officially kickstarted preparations for its upcoming elective congress.

This follows a crucial National Council meeting, with the key outcomes revealed during a press briefing today.

Other resolutions endorsed by NUDO leadership include compliance with the court order, with the Council having resolved that all prerequisites in the court order must be fully complied with and executed by the parties concerned.

NUDO’s President Peter Kazongominja explained.

“The National Council resolved that all prerequisites stipulated in the court order must be fully complied with and executed by the party's consent. Documentary evidence confirming such compliance shall be submitted to the national executive committee through the office of the secretary general for verification. Only once the National Council is satisfied that the court order has been fully executed and all prerequisites have been met shall a date for the party congress be determined and approved.”

During the briefing, Kazongominja also stated that unemployment among youth remains a major concern, with many households struggling with poverty and the rising cost of living.

He said NUDO believes that economic growth must improve the lives of all citizens equitably.

“We reaffirm our commitment to creating sustainable employment opportunities, promoting youth entrepreneurship and skills development, strengthening agriculture and food security, supporting communal farmers, advancing value addition and industrialisation, ensuring transparent management of our natural resources, improving local government service delivery, reducing inequality, and strengthening social protection for vulnerable communities.”

He further stated that the party remains committed to defending democracy, promoting justice, strengthening national unity and advancing policies that improve the lives of all Namibians.
