The University of Namibia has launched the 2026 UNAM PSTBET Tournament, which will take place on 26 August 2026.
The event brings together all twelve UNAM campuses to compete in football, netball and volleyball, while also introducing the official tournament playing kits.
The University of Namibia has introduced the UNAM PSTBET Tournament, a university sports competition bringing together students from all twelve campuses.
The tournament was officially launched with a kit unveiling ceremony at the UNAM Stadium on Friday.
It aims to unite students through sport while creating opportunities for student-athletes to compete across different sporting codes.
Teams will compete in football, netball and volleyball, providing a platform for students from across the country to participate and develop their sporting abilities.
" Now these medals and trophies will be awarded, and the true success of this tournament will be measured by the friendships that are created by the lessons that I learned and by the memories that will be there for a lifetime." Peter Haufiku said.
The tournament is the result of a partnership between UNAM and PSTBET, with both organisations supporting the growth of university sport and creating opportunities for young athletes.
Speaking during the launch, UNAM Director of Student Affairs Matheus Haitota said the tournament represents a step forward for university sport in Namibia.
He said the competition is about more than winning trophies, as it promotes student development, teamwork and opportunities for future athletes.
"We want our students to value sportsmanship and to provide leadership and personal development opportunities through sport. We also want to strengthens between campuses."
The launch also included the unveiling of the official tournament playing kits, marking the start of an event organisers hope will become an annual fixture on the university sporting calendar.
With teams from all UNAM campuses set to participate, the tournament aims to strengthen university sport and encourage more students to take part in sporting activities.
