Swanu Leader Evilastus Kaaronda proposed that the Namibian government make a direct contribution of at least N$30 million to the people of Cuba as a gesture of solidarity.

Kaaronda called on the National Assembly to express solidarity with the people of Cuba, urging a more coordinated national effort to assist the country amid its ongoing challenges.

I'm aware of at least one political party that has requested its members of parliament to make financial contributions, aimed at assisting our brothers and sisters in Cuba. Swanu of Namibia is deeply bothered by the fragmented approach and therefore calls for a more united and solid effort. It is only fair to say in passing that the Navy and government will do good if it were to make a direct contribution of at least N$30 million to the people of Cuba in solidarity. I so move.”
