The Eenhana Town Council will relocate street vendors to a new site from the 30th of this month to bring order to the town.

Street vendors, however, are unhappy.

The Council has earmarked three areas for informal trading: the new open market near the Eenhana District Hospital, a place at the Ekolola location on the outskirts of town, as well as the old open market.

Mayor of Eenhana, Omri-Onn Kavandje, stated, "If you are familiar with Eenhana, which we refer to as the capital city of the region, the overall image is not appealing. It does not attract potential investors to come and invest in the town. The primary step is to relocate the street vendors who are currently selling along the roadside."

However, vendors say the new sites, especially Ekolola, are far from the town centre, lack basic facilities and have no taxi rank. 

They fear that the relocation will therefore reduce customer traffic.
