The Eliminators Table Tennis Club is appealing for support, as the lack of a permanent training venue continues to affect its players' preparation.
The club says its players have gone about four months without regular training, despite continuing to compete in tournaments and reaching finals.
Eliminators Table Tennis Club coach, Theo Beukes, says the lack of a home base is severely limiting their preparation time.
He says the club is currently homeless, meaning players haven't practiced in about four months. Beukes notes that table tennis requires long hours of training, yet his players simply turn up to tournaments and remarkably still reach finals and win.
The club is now calling on potential sponsors and partners to help provide the resources needed to resume its training programme.
Beukes adds that they are actively searching for sponsors, as the club currently operates without any financial backing.
Despite the challenges, the club is planning to host its next tournament this Saturday, 19 September, at Havana High School, subject to final confirmation.
The club hopes the event will help promote the sport and attract support for its players.
