Heavy winds accompanied by rain on Sunday damaged properties in Keetmanshoop.

A house in the Keetmanshoop Tseiblaagte residential area had its roof sheets blown off by heavy winds

The strong gusts also knocked down electrical poles.

"I was monitoring the weather when the wind started blowing suddenly. I went outside the house to assess how strong it was. But when I returned inside the house, roof sheets had already been blown off," says Willem Vries, a homeowner

Vries said he spent the night under the stars after the roof was blown off, appealing to any good Samaritan for assistance.

A building under construction also had its roof sheets blown off.
