Namibia's 16-year-old basketball prospect Sage Owen Kamwi is set to represent the country at the FIBA Africa Regional Youth Camp in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, from 21 to 24 October 2026, where promising young players from across the continent will gather for high-level development and international exposure.

The Team UNAM Cadets player received an official send-off from the Namibia Basketball Federation ahead of his departure for the West African nation.

The four-day continental development programme brings together emerging talent from 21 African nations. Organised as part of joint efforts by FIBA and the NBA, the initiative focuses on nurturing grassroots talent, sharpening fundamental skills, and identifying promising prospects capable of progressing to elite competitive levels.

Namibia Basketball Federation Secretary General Titus Mwahafa noted that Kamwi's selection represents a major boost for the country's youth basketball development framework and highlights the federation's commitment to creating international pathways for local athletes.

For Kamwi, the camp provides valuable exposure to different continental playing styles, allowing him to benchmark his skills alongside top-tier African prospects under expert technical guidance.

Kamwi carries Namibia's representation at the prestigious event as he seeks to gain international experience, refine his game, and advance his competitive development beyond the domestic circuit.
