The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN), has already started preparing for the upcoming general elections.
Namibians will go to the polls in 2024 to elect a President and members of the National Assembly.
The ECN on Thursday began engaging with stakeholders on the draft Electoral Amendment Bill, sending a request for stakeholders to dissect the proposed amendments and submit their inputs.
Throughout the two-day workshop organised by the ECN, more stakeholders, such as civil society organisations and political parties, will have a chance to discuss submissions made and amendments proposed by the electoral commission.
The Bill looks at and analyses previous elections, recommendations and observation reports compiled by local and international observers.
Voter registration, the nomination of candidates, and holding political parties financially accountable form part of the agreed topics for discussion over the two-day engagement.
