Democracy, Peace and Security are important elements for economic development in any country.
These were the sentiments shared by the Namibia and European Union delegations at the Namibia - European Union Political Dialogue currently underway in Windhoek.
At the event, the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah noted that peace and sustainable development are a collective responsibility of both parties.
Minister Nandi-Ndaitwah says the dialogue serves as a platform for Namibia to reiterate its commitment to the values of maintaining international peace, democracy and good governance.
On her part, the EU Ambassador, Sinikka Antila stressed that democracy should not be taken for granted as its the only sustainable way to manage life.
Antila says the EU will work with Namibia in areas they consider important for strength.
During the dialogue sessions, the two parties will deliberate on matters in the areas of trade, energy, climate change, and the recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, among others.
The dialogue is expected to end this afternoon.
