The National Heritage Council of Namibia and the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology have signed a partnership agreement aimed at reforming and harmonising the operations of the two entities.
The National Heritage Council of Namibia provides protection and conservation of heritage places, while the NCRST promotes, coordinates, and develops research.
In terms of the agreement, NCRST will provide funding for the development of research in science and technology in Namibia.
Its Acting CEO, Albertina Ngurare, says the NCRST wants to carry out an awareness campaign on research by identifying, protecting, and managing the natural and cultural heritage of Namibia.
The Director of NHC, Erica Ndalikokule, expressed her confidence that through the partnership, the two entities will develop and strengthen Namibia's heritage management capabilities.
