Rossing Uranium has solidified the extension of its agreement with the Namibian Police Force to another three years to repair old, rusted, and faulty police vehicles at Swakopmund at a cost of N$750,000.

A total of 11 police vehicles were refurbished and maintained by the uranium mine for the past two years, at a cost of N$250,000.

Due to the wet weather conditions in the coastal towns, cars are prone to rust, and the bodies of the vehicles are damaged easily if proper care and maintenance are not taken. 

A delegation comprising Japanese Ambassador Hisao Nishimaki, UN Resident Coordinator Hopolang Phororo, and UNICEF Country Representative Sam Ocran visited the Rundu Intermediary Hospital in the Kavango East Region recently.
 
The visit was part of an impact assessment of Japanese assistance to the Kavango East health sector.
 
The Kavango East Region's population of close to 220,000 is served by 31 health facilities, 28 health centres and clinics, two district hospitals, and the Rundu Intermediate Referral Hospital. 

Omaheke Police is working tirelessly to strengthen partnerships with community members in combatting crime such as housebreaking, assaults and theft.

The police is running an awareness campaign to educate the inhabitants on their role in community policing.

Inspector Fina Sakajengenga, Omaheke Community Affairs Unit Commander told nbc News team that building a positive relationship between the police and the community will help reduce crime incidents.

Local and Regional Authorities in the Hardap and ||Kharas regions kick-started efforts to put in place their own power systems in partnership with independent power producers. 

Political Office bearers of the two regions gathered at Keetmanshoop to explore ways how to set up their own power systems. 

The ||Kharas Regional Council Chairperson Joseph Isaack explains that the authorities through their own power systems want to create employment and make access to electricity cheaper. 

Namibia has been invited to partner with Zimbabwe and erect a monument at the complex where the Museum of African Liberation is being constructed in Zimbabwe.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa's special envoy, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, delivered a letter in this regard to President Hage Geingob at State House.

The Museum of African Liberation, a brainchild of the Zimbabwean government, and a number of other African countries have indicated their willingness to partner on the project already.

The National Heritage Council of Namibia and the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology have signed a partnership agreement aimed at reforming and harmonising the operations of the two entities.

The National Heritage Council of Namibia provides protection and conservation of heritage places, while the NCRST promotes, coordinates, and develops research.

In terms of the agreement, NCRST will provide funding for the development of research in science and technology in Namibia.
