The Namibian Institute of Public Administration and Management and the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) have reaffirmed that partnership and collaboration are crucial to realise the implementation of the goals of the sixth National Development Plan.
During a meeting held at the NBC headquarters in Windhoek's northern industrial area, NBC Director General Menesia Muinjo emphasised collaboration, consistency in programming, service delivery and content as a priority national duty.
"But again, the goal of giving the best to the public is the one that is critical, this will add to enriching the current partnership. Like what I always ask the team and say, 'What is different that we bring to the table?' So, like, it was mentioned here to say we need to beam, especially even at the official opening."
NIPAM Executive Director Heroldt Murangi congratulated Muinjo on her new role, describing NBC as a critical institution because of its national mandate.
"Our mandate as an institution is to improve service delivery for the public services, being ministries, agencies, regional councils, authorities and public enterprises, including the NBC. And I believe for us to be successful in our mission is when we collaborate with an institution like the NBC."
NBC's Chief Commercial Officer Nico Mwiya said a formal agreement between the two public institutions will result in cost savings and other benefits, such as expanding services through NIPAM content, debate programmes for the public sector and other collaborative initiatives.
"NBC is the same, we have to educate the nation, so it's just different platforms that we have to engage with where we are educating the nation, so indeed it's going to feature in the MoU. I took a note here."
A three-year agreement between NBC and NIPAM is under consideration.
