The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and Bank Windhoek are exploring new ways to strengthen their institutional partnership, with a focus on cybersecurity resilience and financial wellness.

The engagement between the two institutions also identified areas where value can be exchanged, particularly through leveraging each institution's strengths in content distribution, financial services, and organisational best practices.

NBC's Director General, Menesia Muinjo, noted that Namibian institutions must not only distribute awareness messages but also build internal capacity to respond when cyber incidents occur.

Muinjo emphasised the need for continuous learning and collaboration with partners.

"How organisations become vulnerable, and the investment they are making, and the risk to destroy such investment. So now that I found you here, I'm wondering how Bank Windhoek does it, and apart from probably the content and message distribution, maybe there is an opportunity to exchange with your team and others, because that's really a focus area.

"Also, because it doesn't help to invest in and to distribute the message, and then tomorrow you have to start from the ground," she said.

Bank Windhoek Communications Manager Jacquiline Pack said the bank is already engaged in workplace banking initiatives that promote financial wellness for employees.

This includes tailored advisory services, savings structures, and employer‑linked financial education sessions.

She added that a similar approach could be adopted for NBC staff, where Bank Windhoek's specialists conduct orientation sessions and host an open link for staff to access information, sign up for products, and attend financial‑wellness workshops.

" And sign up for whatever the links are and then we do a financial wellness presentation to them as well, so that is something that we can also do for you. We have an expert specialist, he is very good, and perhaps it's just a matter of making him aware of his needs,  and then he can come and get the presentation, and then he can just understand more about it as well.

Under the broader N$1.6 million partnership between NBC and Bank Windhoek, both institutions say they are committed to using NBC's national reach and Bank Windhoek's financial and security expertise to strengthen public awareness on digital safety and financial well-being.
