President Hage Geingob today joined Namibians and the global community in commemoration of World Teacher's Day.
It is celebrated under the theme 'The Transformation of Education Begins with Teachers'.
In a statement, Dr Geingob says that through the noble efforts of a teacher and education, the son of a farm worker may become president of a country and the daughter of a domestic worker may become a medical doctor.
As a former teacher himself, Dr Geingob says, he is fully aware of the vital and difficult role educators play in building better and more successful communities.
He encouraged teachers to work together to help shape an ethical society of quality citizens who can all play their part in strengthening the foundations of the Namibian house.
