The Oshikoto Directorate of Education, Arts, and Culture is hosting the Oshikoto Annual Boys Seminar, which aims to empower the boy-child and inspire them to become responsible members of society.

The event is being held under the theme "next step to a boy's journey to manhood."

The initiative seeks to empower boys by assisting them with their day-to-day challenges, counselling them through social situations, and guiding them on their journey to manhood. 
Oshikoto Region Senior Education Officer, Vallie Ashipala, says it is high time attention is given to empowering boys to pave the way for a better society. 

"There has been an outcry in society that boys are not given enough attention in comparison to their female counterparts when it comes to programs or participating in programes."

The seminar was attended by church members, police, and officials from the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Child Welfare.
