Career opportunities for visual artists are limited, especially for new graduates.

It is for this reason that the National Art Gallery of Namibia, in partnership with the College of the Arts, created exhibition platforms for artists.

The colourful exhibition, termed "New Beginnings" by the College of the Arts graduates and alumni, is aimed at creating a networking platform to introduce artists to available opportunities and sell their artwork.

Those in attendance were treated to different art pieces, each with a unique touch and expression.

The Cultural Programme Officer at the Namibia National Commission for Unesco, Nehoa Kautondokwa, introduced the visual artists to the available opportunities, especially that of Unesco.

"The international fund for cultural diversity is under the 2005 convention for the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expression, with the overall aim of promoting sustainable development."

The exhibition will run for about a month, and the public is encouraged to attend, view, and support the young visual artists.
