The NUST Basketball Club turned a defeat into good fortune to win the Students Invitational Mini-Tournament after beating Unam in the final. 

Kicking off the day, Nust took on a DHPS Under-19 team who initially gave them a hard time before the students came back and overpowered them in the second half by 55 points to 51.

The team then went head-to-head against a formidable UNAM home team at the Unam Gym Hall.

The students from Windhoek West however dominated the play in the first half as they put up a stellar display which gave them the upper hand and allowed them to head into the break with the lead.

The second half proved to be a different ball game as trailing UNAM used their home advantage to mount a comeback and eventually winning by 51 - 47.

The two teams later had to face each other in the final and this time around, Nust had no margin for error.

The final ended 78- 53 in favor of NUST

The Basketball Invitational Mini-Tournament saw 5 teams competing in over 9 matches as part of the fun games organized for students.
