The Nampharm Foundation has received N$200,000 from the FirstRand Namibia Foundation.
The donation aims at improving medical professionals with the funding and resources needed.
The Nampharm Foundation is a children's trust fund that assists state patients that need facial reconstructive surgery.
The foundation has so far performed more than 185 procedures, mainly on children.
Handing over the donation, a Trustee at FirstRand Namibia Foundation, Dr Magda Awases, says that extending a hand can brighten a person's life and create a better society.
"There is nothing more heartfelt than putting a smile on a child's face or, in this case, restoring that smile, and your presence here is a testimony. We are here because of our mutual passion to help provide life-changing medical treatment, improve the quality of life of vulnerable children, and support the early implementation of well-researched scientific solutions for cleft treatment."
The Manager and Trustee of Nampharm Foundation, Carol Musarurwa, received the donation.
"Some of these children need more than one corrective surgery, and we have spent over N$2.6 million in the last five years. With the generous help from the FirstRand foundation since 2019."
