The University of Namibia's Hifikepunye Pohamba Campus at Oshakati, Oshana Region, is hosting a two-day multi-disciplinary research conference.
The main purpose of the conference is to share research findings and create collaborative links between academics, stakeholders, and renowned professional practitioners at their workplaces.
In her address, Professor Nelago Iindongo, Director of the Center for Research Services, said UNAM endeavours to become a research-led university.
And we can only realise this goal when research initiatives like multidisciplinary research conferences are organised and hosted at the institution with the purpose of attracting a unique and incredible mix of thinkers, leaders, and experts as well as emerging talent."
Speaking on the same occasion was the Mayor of Oshakati, Leonard Hango.
"We have all learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic that only through research may we find solutions to different ailments. Therefore, I call for more collaboration in research. During this pandemic, when people were confused, everybody was struggling to treat him or herself with all these funny herbs."
UNAM research abstracts, articles, and posters will be produced at this conference.
Networking between researchers boosts cooperation and increases the amount of peer-reviewed research output.
