The SADC Organ Troika has tasked the Secretariat with preparing an updated report of the SADC Mission in Mozambique.

This is contained in a statement released by the Presidency following the closed-door meeting of Presidents Hage Geingob, Cyril Ramaphosa and Hakainde Hichilema in Lesotho's capital Maseru on Friday.

According to the statement, the Troika leaders also discussed the status of the SADC Force Intervention Brigade in the Democratic Republic of Congo and resolved to hold consultations with authorities in that country.

It further said that SADC would continue to strengthen dialogue with the United Nations ahead of discussions around the mandate renewal of MONUSCO.

The Troika leaders agreed to convene an extraordinary summit of the SADC Organ Troika in Windhoek.

President Geingob, as Chair of the Organ Troika, commended his counterparts, Cyril Ramaphosa and Hakainde Hichilema, for their commitment to the peace and security agenda of the region.
